Tavarish mentioned how you can get an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for under 40K. I thought it would be worthwhile to suggest an alternative you could also get for under 40K with a lot more horsepower.

I love the Aston but a Shelby has a heritage all it’s own

lol and when you britsh engineering car is broken down on highway ill slowly roll by roasting my tires in a symphony of supercharger whine while stopping at any parts store for replacement parts

this is also true.
but lets be real here. someone who is shopping for a Aston is NOT, w/e you say, going to be looking at a mustang.
and frankly, for as much as I drive, the aston would be great for me. I even liked those wheels it had (yea yea, so sue me)

its basicly a jag motor, whoppty fuckin do.

Never forget why rare british exotics depreciate as quickly as they do. That first $40k you spend on it will not be your last.

I would love to hear the story from the person who chose a Mustang over a Vantage or vise versa. Cries of somebody who doesn’t know what they want unless it’s RWD V8 but even then there is more to cars then power trains.
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:05 |

nope. but again, i dont drive much to begin with, so the aston would be awesome for me.
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:06 |

Or you can buy a true American supercar that is faster, will out-handle, will actually appreciate in value, will be far more reliable, and will get more attention than the British unreliability monster...

lol and that makes it more reliable?
still you have a problem and you have to find a aston dealer and with 80k miles im sure it needs some parts that are starting to wear
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:10 |

reliability and way less miles. That aston with that many miles depreciated for a reason. its about time to put a bunch of money into it.

Well that’s a lame story.

I liked the wheels as well. And most probably would not cross shop the two. But if I had 40k to burn you can be certain I would be cross shopping them.

Overused stereotype is overused. James Bond would never be seen is such a plebeian Aston

One is special and amazing to look at. The other is an untamed beast that requires a bit of a wrestle to control
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:29 |

I can’t argue with that. Although I would take a convertible or a second generation before the GTS
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:31 |
|
The GTS (92-02) is the second generation. 92-95 is Gen I, 96-02 is Gen II, 03-06 is Gen III...
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:34 |
|
Gen III then. I always figured the GTS was more of a facelift then a generational change
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:37 |

No brainer there. IMO. The Aston.
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:39 |

Suspension is completely different, engine is significantly different, interior is completely different, exterior panels are something like 90% different. They may look similar, but they really are different cars.
The exception being the 96 RT/10. That one is kind of a bastardized oddball, often referred to as the Gen 1.5.
![]() 12/13/2015 at 12:54 |

Really? I never realized there was such a significant difference

In the words of Biggie...if you don’t know, now you know, Jared.

Much in the same way he wouldn’t be seen dead in a 4cyl BMW Z3 or a 750iL? Or trade his Walther PPK for a much superior handgun?
Oh wait.

The Aston is more my style, but the comparative ease of maintaining the Mustang makes me favor it.

Those were dark times for Bond...

So I’ve said this before — I love Mustangs and have owned five over the years. But this is a no-brainer choice: Aston!
